Muze
While working on another student housing project, Sixthriver Architects pulled us in to help elevate the experience at Parallel’s new development from called MUZE. Located in West Campus two blocks from the University of Texas, MUZE is a premium student housing alternative.
When you walk into this beautiful space you are greeted by a monstrous, two-tone, blue “MUZE” lobby sign. 5-inch deep polished-mirror finished partial-perf returns accent the trimless channel letters, creating a modern and bold statement. The perfect welcoming beacon for MUZE’s residents.
On the top floor residents have access to a lounge with giant televisions, ping-pong tables, pool tables, comfy sofas, and outdoor space with a pool that overlooks campus. Sharing just a bit of Texas vernacular, a “Y’ALL” slinks from the ceiling down the wall, giving the space a comforting neon blue glow.
Wanting an “Instagrammable” backdrop for that moment when a student signs their lease, we began developing concepts that made a connection to the property and the University. Considering that quality is the effort of inspired direction applied with precision, we knew we needed a design solution that would not only be durable, but stunning. It also needed to be capable of quick relocation from the temporary leasing office to the permanent building once it was complete. Similar to the “Hotty Toddy” project we delivered to Ole’ Miss, using push-through acrylic, we were able to replicate the look of neon while maintaining the durability of acrylic. Take a moment to scroll through MUZE’s Instagram and see how many students are now “hooked” on luxury living.
