Studio Assistant

We are Studio Dzo, a hybrid design studio in Austin, TX. We design thoughtful solutions from branding and strategy, to interior and exterior spaces. From concept to concrete. Inspired by the majestic dzo (pronounced “zho” - the "D" is silent, naturally), we are a hybrid, greater than the sum of its parts. Take our team's extensive experience in visual design, branding, marketing, communication, and education; combine it with our expert knowledge and understanding of city code compliance, materials, engineering, and fabrication, along with our global relationships; and we like to consider ourselves in a league of our own.

We are looking for an awesome Studio Assistant that’s ready to join this crazy bunch of creatives. This is a full-time hybrid role that requires basic knowledge of design, an eye for detail, an obsession with organization, strong communication skills, and the ability to jump in and help wherever. The perfect candidate would be a recent design graduate, had previous customer facing roles that required working within a team (service industry is a plus), an ability to assess challenges and provide solutions based on common sense. You would also love dogs, puns, and all things Disney.

Responsibilities:

  • Delivering excellent and professional client service at every touchpoint.

  • Helping manage internal project timelines, ensuring that all projects meet deadlines, deliverables, and company quality standards.

  • Be a liaison between design and project management, and clearly communicate with clients and subcontractors.

  • Play a supporting role on various projects with design and project management.

  • Availability to perform limited travel to job sites, clients, and vendor locations.

  • Required to expand industry knowledge through identifying educational opportunities

Skills: 

  • Confident with the Adobe Creative Suite; Illustrator, Indesign, Acrobat, Photoshop

  • Proficient knowledge and experience using Google Suite (Gmail, Calendar, Docs)

  • Excellent communication skills; written and verbal

  • Highly organized and able to quickly follow established processes

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks both independently and in teams in a deadline driven environment.

  • Ability to quickly retain and retrieve information

  • Strong  problem-solving skills rooted in common sense and experience

  • Detailed oriented - Acute ability to identify errors and inconsistencies

Education & Experience:

  • While this role typically requires some higher level design education and customer engagement experience, we are seeking the best candidate regardless of years of experience and education. 

Salary Range:

  • $31K - $35K
