Fat City Stacks

Ripe with “instagrammable” moments, it’s no doubt that this sign package is the cat’s pajamas! Fat City Stacks took over the kitchen space at the pup-friendly watering hole Yard Bar, and needed our help transforming a big blue box into an ode to burger joints, carhops, and milkshakes. Leveraging their mascot, unofficially named “Mr. Fats”, we designed a “faux-back” exterior package that thoughtfully drove home the classic nostalgic vibe of their brand identity.

Working with the existing pole, we designed a double-sided contoured aluminum cabinet that seamlessly wrapped around the pole just under the Yard Bar sign cabinet. Multi-level vacuum-formed faces internally illuminate and surface graphics were painted for the finishing touch.

The “Fat City” custom face-lit vacuum-formed awning sign, mounted on the edge of the overhang, is paired with double pinstriping and plotted vinyl text letting guests know, “You’ve Got Yourself A Fat Stack”.

Hungry patrons walking up to the order window are greeted by Mr. Fats himself. A double-layered, aluminum vintage-inspired arrow points guests towards an unforgettable experience of finger-lickin’-good food and fun.

Fat City Stacks tasty offerings are featured on a custom, easily updatable menu board. Routed white acrylic and digitally printed and laminated graphics are flush-mounted. Repurposing a track system from Pronto, we designed custom removable acrylic sliders with printed vinyl messaging for menu items and prices to be quickly replaced and updated.

Routed pine plywood and hand-painted with One Shot paint, a classic hanging shingle sign directs you to “order here”.

Creating a brand experience from the ground up is never easy. But by setting clear vision early, we delivered a photo-worthy experience for Fat City Stacks visitors. So, the next time you’re rolling up on Burnet Rd., stop by Fat City Stacks and get yourself a fat stack!
