Gavino dermatology
LAKEWAY, TX
Signs should be beautiful. They should offer the perfect balance between brand presence and architectural elegance. Working alongside our interior design partner, S. Tipton Studio, we crafted a sign package custom-tailored to Gavino Dermatology’s newest location in Lakeway, TX.

Having worked with S. Tipton over the years, we understand the high level of finish they bring to their spaces. The scope included a stunning reception sign, ADA signage for all rooms, treatment room numbers, water closet identifiers, and an unexpected branded moment. Our goal: design and craft beautiful, functional, and elevated signage that aligns with the brand and brings a little magic to the space.
The reception sign features an aluminum cabinet painted to match the off-white custom wall tile, pin-mounted with one-inch stand-offs, and reverse-lit with dimmable 3000K LEDs that spill light across the textured tile. The Gavino Dermatology logo and name are routed-out, push-through acrylic illuminated with matching 3000K LEDs. The logo's lattice pattern and text are 3/4-inch deep and tipped with metallic gold for a halo-lit effect.
Simple yet refined, the room signage complies with ADA standards without compromising aesthetics. Each sign utilizes metallic gold painted acrylic with horizontal windows routed out of the top and bottom. Anchored toward the bottom, alabaster white tactile text delivers essential contrast, while braille characters remain subtly integrated into the gold panel. Treatment rooms and the lobby water closet feature dimensional gold numbers with the brand’s lattice pattern engraved halfway down as an elegant accent.
The project's highlight—an unexpected branded moment—emerged naturally through the design process: an in-wall hidden illuminated sign featuring the Gavino Dermatology logo. Completely undetectable when off, it sits flush with the sheetrock behind linen wall covering. When powered on, the dimmable 3000K LEDs reveal the glowing Gavino “G” lattice through the fabric for a moment that is both beautiful and a bit bewildering.
Signage must first function effortlessly within its environment, aligning with the space's fit and finish to deliver an equitable experience for all users—all without compromising beauty. As we approach 10 years of doing good work for good people, this project proved we still have a few tricks up our sleeves.
