2023 Year in Review

As we bid farewell to 2023, Studio Dzo proudly reflects on a journey that has spanned from the illustrious Paramount Theater in Austin, Texas, to a clandestine restaurant and speakeasy nestled in the mountain village of Telluride, Colorado. From building the brand for an unimaginable immersive fitness gym in Little Rock, Arkansas, to leaving an indelible mark on Senior Living Communities across the sun-soaked landscapes of Florida, Georgia, Texas, and Arizona—2023 stands as a testament to the success that can be achieved when you are committed to doing good work for good people.

This success, however, is not measured solely in the craftsmanship of remarkable brands and unforgettable signs but is rooted in the invaluable partnerships cultivated with passionate business owners, program directors, architects, and interior designers. The sheer excitement emanating from a chef when their restaurant's sign is illuminated. The collective sigh of relief from every project manager upon a year-long project receiving the certificate of occupancy ahead of schedule. The virtual high fives and happy dances from a fitness couple witnessing the revelation of their new brand. These are the moments that have made each day of this year extraordinary.

Their shared expertise in art direction, branding, marketing, web presentation, packaging, merchandise, and signage has been outstanding and as a small business, we feel really fortunate to have discovered Studio Dzo at this most pivotal stage of our growth as a business.

We completed 34 sign projects totaling over 3300 signs designed, fabricated, and installed across 7 states and 17 cities. We conjured and crafted 7 new brands and rebrands. We won 3 awards, not just for our design but also for elevating the sign industry and our amazing leadership. We also were published in 2 trade magazines, Signs of the Times and Sign Builder Illustrated, in 5 articles. And while in Portugal, Russell shared tips on how sign shops can better value design in an online webinar with Sign Builder Illustrated. Somehow we managed to accomplish all this and the team was still able to enjoy 24 Dzolidays with family and friends.

When Studio Dzo first emerged onto the scene in the fall of 2016, our mission was clear: to disrupt the sign industry by placing design at the forefront. Now, seven years later, we find ourselves immersed in meaningful work for an array of exceptional individuals. With heartfelt appreciation for the support and love that has fueled our journey, we eagerly anticipate the boundless possibilities and  both the known and unknown horizons that 2024 will unveil.
